Ridgedale POWER Hours TEAM is currently looking for:

Junior High Site Coordinator: 

  • An organized person to take daily attendance (track monthly), get lesson plans/ lessons ready for Lead Teachers, post monthly-view schedules  and make phone calls to parents if students are a “no show”

  • A person who loves the students and wants to spend time with them, who has a strong desire to impact students who are struggling to find success in school, at home and in their community

  •  A person who can communicate well with students, parents and teachers to find how to best help students

  • A person who can jump in to help the teachers to deal with any escalating behavior issues according to the Handbook guidelines, removing and handling distracting behavior/emotional situations, and then spend time helping that student deal with the issue

  • A person who can lead in a fun and firm way to keep the group on schedule, being on site every time programming is going on, being a consistent relationship, authority and face to students

  • Up to 20 hours a week from September 25-April 26, and then another 120 hours in June (split schedule through the school year)

  • Need to have or able to get a certified or classified license, social work or education experience preferred

  • Will need to be open to working on additional training requirements

Teachers and Program Assistants:

  • Manage student behavior and motivate students to use their time wisely and help themselves by owning their education

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Tutors/Program Assistants about who will do what part of the schedule (assign certain grade levels for tutoring time, if necessary)

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students 

  • Teach lessons  and keep the daily schedule on track

  • Assist students with any discernible education needs

  • Do your best to maintain positive relationships with all the students and their families–one of our cornerstones is family engagement. Please focus on sharing your time between ALL students who need your help and attention.
