Weekly Update

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

I wanted to let you know that we received information from the Marion County Engineer’s Office that Morral Kirkpatrick Rd. E. between Tobias Rd. and St. Rt. 98 will be closed October 9 through 25 for a bridge replacement.

There is one week left to enroll your 3rd-8th grade student in POWER Hours for before- and after-school enrichment. This is a great opportunity for students to get their homework done, learn some good life lessons, get some exercise, and explore some enrichment options while being with friends. Find the forms on Ridgedale's website under documents or feel free to contact Melissa Weston with any questions or requests for paper copies. You can call 740-414-3337 or mweston@ridgedaleschools.org. We hope to see you there!

This year, we are moving Boo at the Barn back to the school, so we will be celebrating Scare at the School and Boo at the Dale event on Wednesday, October 25, from 5-6:30pm. This promises to be a fun-filled night! Look for more information to come!

Elementary PTO will meet on Tuesday night. On Thursday this week, we will honor our senior volleyball players at their game against Perry for the NWCC championship game. Wear some neon and help make the fan section GLOW! Free glow sticks will be given at the door! Jr. High football will also play on Thursday at Waynesfield Goshen. On Friday, we will honor our senior football, cheer, golf, cross country, and band at the football game against Waynesfield Goshen. Cross country will compete in the NWCC conference meet on Saturday at North Baltimore.

As we look ahead, our next Triple P: Positive Parenting Program meeting is coming up on Thursday, October 19, from 5-7pm. The topic for this month is “Dealing with Aggression and Disobedience at Home.” If you are interested in attending this great session while enjoying a free dinner, please contact Mrs. Weston by Monday, October 16. First and second grade students will be attending a performance at the palace on October 16. The end of the first nine weeks is on Thursday, October 19. Please continue to monitor your child’s grades on PowerSchool. There is no school on Friday, October 20 due to COTA day.

Remember you can check out all of our events on our Google Calendar by going to our website, clicking on “Menu,” and then clicking on “School Calendar.” Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or the LiveFeed on our website to see all of the fantastic work being showcased in our schools!
