Weekly Update

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

Thank you to our staff, community partners, and families who joined us for Boo at the Dale! We had a fantastic turnout!

Jr./Sr. High picture retakes are on Tuesday, October 31st. Marion Technical College will be visiting high school students on Tuesday during lunch as well. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about all of the courses and degrees available right here in Marion. Safe travels to FFA members who are traveling to the national convention this week. For all those interested in joining the musical cast of "Guys and Dolls," there will be an informational meeting for all parents/families and students on Thursday, November 2nd at 6pm. 8th graders will be visiting Tri Rivers and Ohio State University Marion on Friday, and the elementary will kick off their fundraiser on Friday, too. Congratulations to Brogan Weston who will be heading to the state cross country meet on Saturday, November 4! Don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 5, so don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour.

Mark your calendars for the PowderPuff football game that will be held on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30pm. This is sponsored by the student council, and includes the game, a halftime show by the band, and concessions available for sale. Admission is by donation only, and all donations will go to the student council for events such as adopt a family.

Remember you can check out all of our events on our Google Calendar by going to our website, clicking on “Menu,” and then clicking on “School Calendar.” Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or the LiveFeed on our website to see all of the fantastic work being showcased in our schools!

By the way, are you looking for a part-time job that provides flexibility and allows you to make a difference in our community? If so, consider becoming a substitute in our schools! You can join our team as a substitute aide, teacher, cafeteria worker, custodian, secretary, and/or bus driver. Please fill out an application on our website. If you have specific questions, please contact Dr. Erika Bower at ebower@ridgedaleschools.org

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!
