Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
It’s hard to believe that November is already here! This is one of my favorite times of the year as November always seems to be a month of gratitude. This November, I would like to encourage everyone to take a gratitude challenge! You could write down 3 things for which you are thankful, call someone you are thinking about, write 5 thank you notes and send them out, make an effort to smile more each day, compliment others more, or engage in a random act of kindness! I would like to share my gratitude for our entire community! We are grateful to have each of you as part of our Rocket family!
Our winter sporting events kick off this week! On Tuesday, November 7, the high school girls’ basketball scrimmage Riverdale at 6:30pm, the junior high boys’ basketball scrimmage Pleasant at 5:30pm, and the junior high girls’ basketball scrimmage at Pleasant at 5:30pm. The high school girls’ basketball scrimmage Genoa Christian at 6pm on Friday, and the high school boys’ basketball scrimmage Mt. Gilead at 8am on Saturday.
There is a PowderPuff football game this Wednesday, November 8, at 6:30pm. It is sponsored by the student council, and includes the game, a halftime show by the band, and concessions available for sale. Admission is by donation. All donations will go to the student council for events such as adopt a family. The elementary Veterans’ Day program will be livestreamed on Friday at 8:30am. Mr. Richards and the students have been practicing and are excited to honor veterans.
Plan ahead for some fantastic events coming soon! Our sophomores will be visiting Tri Rivers Career Center in the morning on November 14. Our elementary will host a library night on November 15. The college credit plus meeting for those interested in taking college classes is on November 16. We will also hold our next Triple P Parent event on November 16. The elementary fundraiser ends on November 17. There is no school Wednesday, November 22 through Friday, November 24, due to Thanksgiving break.
