Weekly Update

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

Speaking of safety, if you are picking students up or dropping them off, please be sure that you pull all the way up to the vehicle in front of you so we can have as many cars as possible in the driveway area. We now have the drive in the middle expanded as well so that families who are picking up jr./sr. high students only can keep that traffic pattern flowing. Keep in mind that the school zone speed limit is 20mph. This is in effect whenever students are present and visible and is enforced across our entire property. Thank you for keeping everyone safe!

Thank you to everyone who attended our family appreciation night on Friday! It was wonderful to see the stands full of our fans cheering on our students! We truly do appreciate you! This week, we have plenty of ways for you to be involved, again. On Monday, the jr. high girls’ basketball team plays at home, the jr. high boys’ basketball team plays at Ridgemont, the freshmen boys’ basketball team plays at home, and there is a school board meeting. Tuesday the elementary is having a holiday extravaganza from 4-6pm with games, snacks, and a silent auction. Stay for the kindergarten and 1st grade program after. The varsity girls’ basketball team will play at home as well. On Wednesday, the jr.high girls’ basketball team plays at home, and the jr. high boys’ basketball team plays at Fredericktown. Thursday the varsity girls’ basketball team plays at Ridgemont, and the jr./sr. high music program takes place. On Friday, the jv and varsity boys’ basketball teams will play at home. Saturday the wrestling team competes at River Valley, and the bowling team competes in Bucyrus.

There is no school Wednesday, December 20 through Tuesday, January 2 for winter break. Students will return on Wednesday, January 3. Please keep in mind that the end of quarter 2 is Friday, January 12.

Please check out the Google Calendar on our website for all events! You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and the LiveFeed to see all of the amazing work being done in our schools!

Don’t forget, if you are looking for a part-time job that provides flexibility and allows you to make a difference in our community, consider becoming a substitute in our schools! You can join our team as a substitute aide, teacher, cafeteria worker, custodian, secretary, and/or bus driver. Please fill out an application on our website. If you have specific questions, email me.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!
