Weekly Update 3-24-24

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

Last week, I shared about our Career Technical Education pathways and courses here at Ridgedale. This week, I want to encourage high school students to take advantage of one or more of these pathways. We offer ag, engineering, informational technology, interactive media, and education. Whether students decide to fully focus on these careers or not, the learning that takes place will help them in any field they choose in the future! We also offer college credit opportunities in partnership with many different colleges and universities to help lighten their coursework needs.

Our Kindergarten Expo is coming up on Wednesday, April 3, from 4-6:30pm. If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten in the 2024-25 school year, be sure to join us on this date! In addition, if you have a child who is eligible for preschool next year, you can sign them up by finding the application on our website! Please contact the elementary school with any questions about preschool or kindergarten. We are excited to welcome our newest Rockets!

High school track will compete at Ontario on Tuesday and Colonel Crawford on Friday. Don’t forget that there is no school this week on Thursday and Friday as well as the following Monday for Spring Break. We will welcome students back on Tuesday, April 2.

Please plan ahead for April 8. There will be no school on this day as it is a planned professional development day.

We encourage you to follow our LiveFeed on our website as well as social media to watch all of the amazing work being done! You can also find events on the Google Calendar on our website.

We are hiring! We anticipate having full time teaching positions for an intervention specialist, a foreign language teacher, and an integrated science teacher. Or, consider becoming a substitute in our schools! You can join our team as a substitute aide, teacher, cafeteria worker, custodian, secretary, and/or bus driver. Please fill out an application on our website, and email me to set up an interview.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!
