Good Afternoon, Rocket Families!🚀
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, community partnerships, and fiscal responsibility.
Our staff had a great day of learning on Friday during our professional development day. The junior/senior high staff had the opportunity to visit Whirlpool Corporation to learn more about the skills and competencies employers are seeking in today’s workforce. Experiences like this help our staff better understand the opportunities available to our students right here in our region and allow us to design learning experiences that connect directly to local workforce needs. Whirlpool is a company with global reach and offers a wide variety of career pathways, giving our staff valuable insight into the many possibilities that exist for our students.
Our elementary staff spent the day collaborating on the vertical alignment of standards and engaging in data-driven instructional planning. This work helps ensure that what students are learning builds consistently from grade to grade and allows teachers to better respond to student needs. By looking closely at student data and aligning instruction across grade levels, our staff is continuing to strengthen learning opportunities and support the success of our students.
