Associate Principal

 I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mellissa Johnson, and I am excited to join Ridgedale Jr/Sr High School as the Associate Principal of College and Career Readiness. Something that made an impression on me is the district's values of strong relationships, student success, and community pride.

In my 13 years of experience in education, I have served as an assistant principal, middle and high school math teacher, technology coordinator, and afterschool program manager. Each role has strengthened my belief that every student deserves the knowledge, skills, and support to pursue a path to success. Whether that leads to college, career technology, military service, or directly into the workforce.

In this role, my focus will be on helping students discover their interests, grow as learners, and connect their education to real-world experiences. I believe the foundation of a great school is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine relationships.

My goal is to be a visible, approachable leader who listens first, celebrates successes, and works alongside others to support every student. I also value the traditions that make Ridgedale special and am committed to building on the district's many strengths while embracing new ideas that benefit our students. When I'm not at school, I enjoy golfing and spending time with my family, friends, and traveling to new places.
