Reminder of some special events going on at Ridgedale this week! 🏀The Rocket Dribbling Club will perform at the HS Girls Basketball game Thursday, 1/26 during halftime of the varsity game which begins at 6pm. 🎼 The Musical Dept. will hold their Spaghetti Dinner Saturday night from 4:30-8pm. 🎼 Musical is also doing a fundraiser raffle for bundles of meat. Please see attached flier for information. 🤸‍♂️Mini Cheer Camp Performance will take place during halftime of the Boys Varsity Basketball game vs. McComb on Saturday, 1/28. JV start is 5pm. Please come out and support our Rockets!

Congratulations to the JH Boys and Girls basketball teams on their wins over Bucyrus, Saturday. Congratulations also to Nya Miller on her 2nd place finish at the Ridgedale Girls Wrestling Invite. She was also recognized for her accomplishments over the past 3 seasons as she competed in her last tournament at Ridgedale in her season season! Great job Nya! We are proud of all of our Rockets!!❤️💙

Good afternoon, Rocket families! This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy events in the buildings this week! Our first WinterFest was a success, and the Soup-er Supper was a hit! We have more fantastic events this week! First, if you have a student who is interested in taking College Credit Plus classes next year, you and your child should plan on attending the informational meeting tomorrow, Monday, January 23, at 7pm in the jr/sr high cafeteria. In addition, the Rocket Dribbling Club will be performing at the girls’ basketball game on Thursday, January 26, so if you missed them at the boys’ game on Friday, mark your calendars! This Saturday, January 28, the boys’ basketball team will be hosting McComb starting at 5:30pm. The Rocket Mini Cheer will perform. You can also support the Ridgedale Musical who will be hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4:30-8pm. For $7 a person, enjoy spaghetti, salad, a breadstick, dessert, and a beverage. Preschool registration is now available for the 2023-24 school year. Information and applications are available on the website. Kindergarten registration will be held through our Expo! This will be on April 4, from 4-7pm. Please call the elementary to RSVP! We can’t wait to host our first Career Cafe where staff from Ohio Health will have lunch with students and talk to them about careers in health care. Select students in grades 10-12 were invited based on their aptitudes from their YouScience inventory. Our goal is to have every student in grades 11 and 12 attend at least one of our monthly Career Cafes in order to learn about a career field in which they showed high aptitude. All students in grades 6-12 were able to take this inventory, so if you have not had a chance to sit down and look at their results with them, I encourage you to do so! Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade Boys and 8th grade Girls Basketball teams on their conference wins over Elgin last night! Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball team on their win over Crestline and great effort by the Varsity Boys Basketball team on their close loss to Crestline. Keep working hard Rockets!

Today the following senior student-athletes were selected to represent Ridgedale at the annual Rotary Club luncheon at the Palace Pavillon. We’d like to thank the Rotary Club for the invitation to showcase some great future leaders. Thank you to all who were involved and the inspiring speech by Mrs. Pratt.

Come join us in the elementary gym where students can enjoy some winter activities, snacks, Lego robotics demonstrations, and prizes while adults have time to connect with other adults as well as community partners! Gilead: Varsity Boys lost to Mt. Gilead 1797 to 2078. High game was Dakota Callahan with a 180. High series was Jayden Reynolds with a 326. Varsity girls defeated Mt Gilead 1761 to 1480. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 191. Faith Brenzo had high series with a 341. Next up Bowlers take on Centerburg Thursday 1/19.

Reminder Rocket Youth Nights this week!

We had a great start to the new year! Please take a moment to help re-establish routines with your child as we do the same here at school. I encourage you to take a moment to check your child’s grades on a regular basis using PowerSchool. Remember that the second quarter ends this Friday, January 13. We have some exciting events coming up! Do you have a child in grades 1-8 who is interested in cheerleading? Then, sign up for the Ridgedale Cheerleading Mini Camp which takes place on January 18 and 25 from 3:15-5pm and January 28 from 9am-12pm. Students will perform on January 28 at the boys’ home game. See the registration form on our website or pick one up in the building office. Bowling Results: 1/3/2023 - Girls varsity bowlers defeated River Valley 1848 to 1768. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 208. Aubrie also had high series with a 400. Girls JV lost to River Valley 805 to 1045. High game was Shayla Gaffney with a 111. Shayla had high series with a 191. Varsity Boys lost to River Valley 1778 to 2008. High game was Dakota Callahan with a 183. Dakota also had high series with a 353. 1/5/2023 - Girls varsity bowlers lost to Crestline 1682 to 1700. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 196. Aubrie also had high series with a 352. Boys varsity lost to Crestline 1856 to 1970. High game was Jayden Reynolds with a 194. Jayden also had high series with a 362. Congratulation to Aubrie Smith who is currently in 1st place in the KMAC League in girls bowling. Bowling Teams take on East Knox on Monday (1/9) at home.
