Good afternoon, Rocket families! This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome our students and staff back on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Our second quarter ends on Friday, January 13. Keep in mind that you can check your child’s grades anytime on PowerSchool. Don’t forget to check out all of the athletic events this week! They can be found on our website or download the app! There are no scheduled events on Monday, but Tuesday, our bowling team will compete against RV at Blue Fusion at 4pm, and the boys' basketball teams will play at home against Fort Knox with the freshmen starting at 4:30pm. There are no events on Wednesday. On Thursday, check out the bowling team at Cooper’s, the high school girls' basketball at Centerburg, the junior high boys' basketball at Cardington, and the junior high girls' basketball at home. The high school boys' basketball will play at Seneca East on Friday. On Saturday, the junior high wrestling will be at Triad while the high school girls' basketball will battle Wynford at home. On Sunday, our girls' wrestling will be at Fostoria. Be sure to check the website, app, or social media for any changes that may occur! Mark your calendars for Friday, January 20. The boys' basketball team will be hosting Elgin that night with the freshmen starting at 4:30pm. The Rocket Dribbling Club will be performing! Come early and feed your family while supporting the Ridgedale Boosters. The Boosters will be hosting a Soup-er Supper from 5-7pm in the high school cafeteria. Enjoy a variety of soups, salad, bread, and drink for only $6 per person. There will be a silent auction, vendor setups, and a bake sale as well. Plan ahead for the spaghetti dinner for the musical on January 28. The mini cheerleaders will be performing on that night as well! Good afternoon, Rocket Families! Unfortunately, our high school girls' basketball team will not be participating in the Pleasant Holiday Tournament tonight and tomorrow due to illness. The freshmen boys' will be in action on Tuesday at North Union at 5:30pm, and the JV and Varsity boys' teams will play on Friday at 6pm at Vanlue. Be sure to purchase tickets for the Vanlue game online on Friday after 7am.

Rocket HS Girls Basketball for tonight 12/27 and tomorrow 12/28 is cancelled due to illness. No practice tonight 12/27 and practice in TBA on 12/28.

Athletic Event Reminders: *HS Girls Basketball will play in the Pleasant Holiday Tournament on Tuesday vs. Pleasant, 7:30pm and on Wednesday at either 6 or 7:30pm. *Freshmen Boys Basketball plays at North Union, 5:30pm on Tuesday. *HS Boys Basketball will play at Vanlue on Friday at 6pm. Admission is online ONLY. The link won't go "live" until the morning of the event so you won't be able to purchase the "Vanlue vs Ridgedale HS boys game" tickets until Friday morning (12/30/22) after 7am. With the holidays and this blustery cold, I decided to do our weekly one call early! Don’t forget that we are on our winter break this week! Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. The end of the second quarter is quickly approaching! This quarter ends on Friday, January 13. This week in Basketball 12/19 - HSGB lost to Elgin JH 7th and 8th grade Boys lost to Centerburg JH 8th grade Girls defeated Centerburg. 12/20 - HSBB lost in overtime to Bucyrus. 12/21 - HSGB lost by 1 to North Baltimore JH 7th grade Boys and 8th grade Girls both defeated Vanlue. Next games will be 12/27 and 12/28 - HSGB play in the Pleasant Holiday Tournament. 12/27 Ridgedale vs. Pleasant @ 7:30pm. 12/28 losers bracket @ 6pm and winners bracket 7:30pm HSBB will play on 12/30 at Vanlue 6pm

This week in Bowling: 12/17 Bucyrus Tournament results- Bowling Results from Bucyrus Redmen Tournament: Boys finished in 16th place and Girls finished in 15th. Aubrie Smith placed 2nd Overall as an individual. She had a series high of 635. 12/19 @ Northmor results- Boys lost to Northmor 1769 to 1885. High Game was Jayden Reynolds with a 210. Jayden also had high series with a 407. Girls lost to Northmor 1543 to 1641. High Game was Aubrie Smith with a 239. Aubrie had high series with a 392. 12/21 @ Fredericktown results- Boys lost to Fredericktown 1684 to 1853. Dakota Callahan has high game with a 200. Bryce Harmon has high series with a 363. Girls lost to Fredericktown 1470 to 1790. Aubrie Smith had high Game with a 181. BriAnna Ramey had high series with a 261.

Nya Miller won her weight class at the Mapleton Girls Wrestling Tournament today! Congratulations Nya! 🤼‍♀️ Jayse Shaffer and Maddie Blankley competed in the Mohawk JH Wrestling Tournament today. Great efforts by both!

Friday night 12/16 - HS Boys basketball game @ Ridgemont - ONLINE Ticketing ONLY - https://www.ridgemont.k12.oh.us/TicketBoxOffice.aspx Saturday 12/17 - HS Girls basketball game is postponed due to lack of numbers for Del. Christian. Makeup date is 1/24/23 @ 6pm. HS Boys Basketball will play Del. Christian as scheduled with JV game beginning at 5pm Monday 12/19 - JH Girls basketball game will be an 8th grade ONLY game due to illness at Centerburg. Game time will remain at 5pm. JH Boys will still play both 7th and 8th grade games @ 5pm.

Rocket Bowling!: Girls Varsity lost to Fredericktown 1675 to 1741. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 191. Aubrie had high series with a 371. Rocket Bowling!: Girls JV lost to Fredericktown 871 to 1114. High game was Shayla Gaffney with a 135. Shayla also had high series with a 238.
