Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade Boys and 8th grade Girls Basketball teams on their conference wins over Elgin last night! Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball team on their win over Crestline and great effort by the Varsity Boys Basketball team on their close loss to Crestline.

Today the following senior student-athletes were selected to represent Ridgedale at the annual Rotary Club luncheon at the Palace Pavillon. We’d like to thank the Rotary Club for the invitation to showcase some great future leaders. Thank you to all who were involved and the inspiring speech by Mrs. Pratt.

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
Don’t forget that there is no school on Monday, January 16, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We have many events planned in the next few weeks!
Students in grades K-8 along with their parents/guardians are invited to WinterFest on Wednesday, January 18, from 4:30-6pm. Come join us in the elementary gym where students can enjoy some winter activities, snacks, Lego robotics demonstrations, and prizes while adults have time to connect with other adults as well as community partners!
Preschool registration is now available for the 2023-24 school year. Information and applications are available on the website.
Kindergarten registration will be held through our Expo! This will be on April 4, from 4-7pm. Please call the elementary to RSVP!
If you have a student who is interested in taking College Credit Plus classes next year, you and your child should plan on attending the informational meeting on Monday, January 23, at 7pm in the jr/sr high cafeteria.
On Friday, January 20, the boys' basketball team will be hosting Elgin that night with the freshmen starting at 4:30pm. The Rocket Dribbling Club will be performing! Come early and feed your family while supporting the Ridgedale Boosters. The Boosters will be hosting a Soup-er Supper from 5-7pm in the high school cafeteria. Enjoy a variety of soups, salad, bread, and drink for only $6 per person. There will be a silent auction, vendor setups, and a bake sale as well.

Don’t forget…on Saturday, January 28, the boys’ basketball team will be hosting McComb starting at 5:30pm. The Rocket Mini Cheer will perform. You can also support the Ridgedale Musical who will be hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4:30-8pm. For $7 a person, enjoy spaghetti, salad, a breadstick, dessert, and a beverage.

Results vs. Mt. Gilead:
Varsity Boys lost to Mt. Gilead 1797 to 2078. High game was Dakota Callahan with a 180. High series was Jayden Reynolds with a 326.
Varsity girls defeated Mt Gilead 1761 to 1480. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 191. Faith Brenzo had high series with a 341.
Next up Bowlers take on Centerburg Thursday 1/19.

Reminder Rocket Youth Nights this week!

We had a great start to the new year! Please take a moment to help re-establish routines with your child as we do the same here at school. I encourage you to take a moment to check your child’s grades on a regular basis using PowerSchool. Remember that the second quarter ends this Friday, January 13.
We have some exciting events coming up!
Do you have a child in grades 1-8 who is interested in cheerleading? Then, sign up for the Ridgedale Cheerleading Mini Camp which takes place on January 18 and 25 from 3:15-5pm and January 28 from 9am-12pm. Students will perform on January 28 at the boys’ home game. See the registration form on our website or pick one up in the building office.

1/3/2023 - Girls varsity bowlers defeated River Valley 1848 to 1768. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 208. Aubrie also had high series with a 400.
Girls JV lost to River Valley 805 to 1045. High game was Shayla Gaffney with a 111. Shayla had high series with a 191.
Varsity Boys lost to River Valley 1778 to 2008. High game was Dakota Callahan with a 183. Dakota also had high series with a 353.
1/5/2023 - Girls varsity bowlers lost to Crestline 1682 to 1700. High game was Aubrie Smith with a 196. Aubrie also had high series with a 352.
Boys varsity lost to Crestline 1856 to 1970. High game was Jayden Reynolds with a 194. Jayden also had high series with a 362.
Congratulation to Aubrie Smith who is currently in 1st place in the KMAC League in girls bowling.
Bowling Teams take on East Knox on Monday (1/9) at home.

Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome our students and staff back on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Our second quarter ends on Friday, January 13. Keep in mind that you can check your child’s grades anytime on PowerSchool.
Don’t forget to check out all of the athletic events this week! They can be found on our website or download the app! There are no scheduled events on Monday, but Tuesday, our bowling team will compete against RV at Blue Fusion at 4pm, and the boys' basketball teams will play at home against Fort Knox with the freshmen starting at 4:30pm. There are no events on Wednesday. On Thursday, check out the bowling team at Cooper’s, the high school girls' basketball at Centerburg, the junior high boys' basketball at Cardington, and the junior high girls' basketball at home. The high school boys' basketball will play at Seneca East on Friday. On Saturday, the junior high wrestling will be at Triad while the high school girls' basketball will battle Wynford at home. On Sunday, our girls' wrestling will be at Fostoria. Be sure to check the website, app, or social media for any changes that may occur!

Unfortunately, our high school girls' basketball team will not be participating in the Pleasant Holiday Tournament tonight and tomorrow due to illness. The freshmen boys' will be in action on Tuesday at North Union at 5:30pm, and the JV and Varsity boys' teams will play on Friday at 6pm at Vanlue. Be sure to purchase tickets for the Vanlue game online on Friday after 7am.

Rocket HS Girls Basketball for tonight 12/27 and tomorrow 12/28 is cancelled due to illness. No practice tonight 12/27
and practice in TBA on 12/28.

Athletic Event Reminders:
*HS Girls Basketball will play in the Pleasant Holiday Tournament on Tuesday vs. Pleasant, 7:30pm and on Wednesday at either 6 or 7:30pm.
*Freshmen Boys Basketball plays at North Union, 5:30pm on Tuesday.
*HS Boys Basketball will play at Vanlue on Friday at 6pm. Admission is online ONLY. The link won't go "live" until the morning of the event so you won't be able to purchase the "Vanlue vs Ridgedale HS boys game" tickets until Friday morning (12/30/22) after 7am. They do this in case of cancellations.
